The
Guardroom is the first place you come to on your arrival at the
museum and usually the last place that you see when you leave at
the end. On arrival you will have been given a descriptive,
coloured, Guide Map to assist you in your tour of the museum and
of course at the end this needs to be handed back in for other
visitors to use.
As well as being the initial Reception Area,
the Guardroom also functions as a shop for any souvenirs that you
may wish to purchase. There is usually quite an extensive range of
items on sale and most visitors generally find something that
appeals to them.
A popular item on sale is the book written
especially for the museum called “Davidstow Airfield and
Cornwall at War Museum … a visit remembered”. In fact this is
a double-ended book as starting from the other end there is an
informative wartime history of RAF Davidstow Moor from 1942 to
1945.
